Alzheimer’s Association-National Capital Area
Since 1981, the National Capital Area (formerly the Greater Washington and Northern Virginia Chapters) has served as the region's primary support network and information resource for Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. Through our numerous programs and services - including Helpline, support groups, Safe Return, workshops and conferences for both caregivers and professionals, public policy efforts, and community awareness activities - the National Capital Area provides help and hope to the over 460,000 individuals in Northern Virginia, Suburban Maryland and Washington, DC who are facing the daily challenges of Alzheimer's.

Citizen’s Advisory Council, IONA
IONA's Citizen Advisory Council serves as the DC Commission on Aging's Mini-Commission in Ward 3. It is composed of individuals affiliated with organizations or civic groups who share a concern for the welfare of older persons. The CAC monitors IONA programs, helps to educate the community on senior issues, and advocates on behalf of older people.

District of Columbia Health Care Association
The District of Columbia Health Care Association (DCHCA) represents 100%
of all of the licensed non-federal nursing facilities. DCHCA's strength,
effectiveness and integrity are significantly enhanced by the diversity
of its membership, which includes proprietary, non-profit and
government-operated facilities .DCHCA is an information and education
resource to its facility members, associate business members, vendors
and consultants. DCHCA provides its members with continuing education
programs, as well as keeping members informed in many areas, including
the development of policy and legislation, regulatory compliance, and
payment and reimbursement. DCHCA also works on behalf of the general
public, educating legislators, government officials, the media and
consumers on the serious issues facing our profession.

District of Columbia Hospital Association
Founded in 1978, the District of Columbia Hospital Association (DCHA) is a non-profit organization with 18 member hospitals and over 70 Associate Members whose mission is to provide leadership in improving the health care system in the District of Columbia, advocating for the interests of Member Hospitals as they support the interests of the community. To this end DCHA will: represent and advocate for its member hospitals; provide a forum to solve common problems and achieve common goals; assist its members to meet community health care needs; and encourage health services research and education.

District of Columbia Long Term Care Ombudsman AARP
The Long Term Care Ombudsman program receives and investigates complaints about resident care in long-term care homes and community residence facilities, helps promote and ensure rights for residents, and gives information about long-term care/nursing homes and community facilities.

Episcopal Senior Ministries has provided continuous, quality services since 1924. Today, ESM is bringing a tradition of service to a new generation. ESM's services and partnerships reach out to seniors, family members and caregivers from congregations and communities in the District of Columbia, and Montgomery, Prince George's, Charles, and St. Mary's Counties, Maryland.

Working at the national, state and community levels, we have earned a national reputation as an effective voice for health care consumers for over 15 years.

Family and Child Services of Washington, DC
The mission of Family and Child Services, Inc. (F&CS) is to improve individual, family and community life by providing a broad range of professional services and supports in areas such as individual, family and group counseling, child placement, camping and services to older Americans. Founded in 1882, F&CS is one of the oldest, most innovative social services organizations in America.

Greater Washington Urban League
Founded in 1938 and one of more than 100 affiliates of the National Urban League, the Greater Washington Urban League is a major civil rights and social services organization located in the District of Columbia. The League has over 60 years of experience in dealing effectively with a wide range of social and economic problems, and is governed by a 37-member Board of Directors composed of a cross-section of individuals from the Washington metropolitan area, and an Advisory Board that lends expertise and guidance to support the work of the agency.

Health Services for Children with Special Needs, Inc.
Health Services for Children with Special Needs, Inc. (HSCSN/NET) is an
innovative care management network coordinating health, social, and
education services for the pediatric Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and
SSI-eligible populations, age 21 and younger, in Washington, DC. Benefits to
members and their families include traditional Medicaid benefits plus
expanded health care services including individualized care management;
24-hour access to care coordination; outreach services; respite care;
medically necessary home modifications; and mental, behavioral, and
developmental wraparound services. Holistic and proactive, HSCSN/NET is the
only Medicaid health plan that coordinates all aspects of physical, mental,
behavioral and developmental care and services for its members.

Home Care Partners
Home Care Partners is a non-profit home care agency that has been providing home care aide services to elderly and disabled individuals throughout the metropolitan area since 1957. Certified home care aides provide bathing and personal care, light housekeeping, shopping, meal preparation and other types of supportive services designed to assist individuals to remain in their own homes. Home Care Partners is accredited by JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of HealthCare Organizations) and receives funding from a number of local government and other organizations so that service may be provided at no cost or at low cost to qualified clients. Training for individuals who wish to become certified home care aides is provided by our licensed training school.

IONA Senior Services

Lisner-Louise-Dickson-Hurt Home
The Lisner-Louise-Dickson-Hurt Home is a private, non-profit nursing facility for men and women who are District of Columbia residents of modest to lower income. Semi-private rooms, all meals, nursing care, medical expenses, social services, activities program, and housekeeping included. The facility is Medicaid and Medicare certified. Private insurance is accepted.

Mid-Atlantic Non-Profit Health and Housing Association
Organized in 1982, MANPHA's founding members formed the association to serve the interests of non-profit senior care providers in Maryland. A number of faith-based retirement communities and nursing homes were among its initial members. Today, MANPHA is the largest senior care provider association in Maryland & D.C., serving nearly 200 organizations.

Multiple Sclerosis Society, National Capital Chapter
Founded in 1946, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is the most comprehensive resource on MS-related information in the United States.
Through its home office in New York and its 50-state network of chapters and branches, the Society serves more than one million people annually.

National Caucus and Center on Black Aged
The National Caucus and Center on Black Aged is the only national organization whose major focus is improving life for African American and low-income minority elderly. The late Hobart C. Jackson of Philadelphia, a nursing home professional, who was a well-respected champion of the African American elderly, founded it in 1970. Mr. Jackson and a group of concerned citizens organized The National Caucus on Black Aged to assure that the 1971 White House Conference on Aging would address the particular needs of African American elderly.

Sarah’s Circle
Sarah's Circle, a 501(c) non-profit located in the Adams Morgan area of Washington, D.C., is an award-winning, affordable-housing residence and Wellness Center providing comprehensive programs and services for economically disadvantaged seniors. More than 14,000 senior citizens residing in Washington, D.C. live in abject poverty. Those trying to survive on social security usually have less than $30 per week after rent. They are forced to choose between food, heat, or their medications. They are alone. It is for these people that Sarah's Circle was created.

Sibley Memorial Hospital
Sibley is a non-profit, full service 328-bed acute care community hospital serving the Washington, DC area. Our campus is also home to our assisted living residence, Grand Oaks and The Sibley Renaissance which houses our Center for Rehabilitation Medicine, Sibley Senior Services, skilled nursing care and a residential Alzheimer's unit.

Stoddard Baptist Home
The Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home's mission is to deliver professional quality health care services to our residents and their families by responding to their spiritual, physical, emotional and social needs.

Whitman Walker Clinic
Whitman-Walker Clinic is a non-profit community-based health organization serving the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region. Established by and for the gay and lesbian community, our Clinic is comprised of diverse volunteers and staff who provide or facilitate the delivery of high quality, comprehensive, accessible health care and community services. Whitman-Walker Clinic is especially committed to ending the suffering of all those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.
